About the
Jefferson County Genealogical Society

About the Society

The idea for a genealogical society in Jefferson County was developed in the summer of 1995. A small group of employees and patrons of the Jefferson County Library, Northwest Branch decided that it was time that our county had such an organization. In December of 1995, officers were elected and a constitution was adopted.

We have an agreement with the Jefferson County Library, Northwest Branch, in High Ridge that houses our collection and hosts our monthly meetings.

This agreement allows us to enhance the library's collection while making genealogical records accessible to those searching for ancestors in Jefferson County, Missouri.
